Description
A cozy, single-serve apple pie mug cake made in the microwave. All the flavors of warm apple pie in under 10 minutes!
Ingredients
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon melted butter (or oil)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup peeled and finely diced apple
Optional: whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions
1. In a microwave-safe mug, mix together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
2. Add in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined.
3. Fold in the diced apple pieces.
4. Microwave on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds, or until the cake is set in the center.
5. Let cool for 1–2 minutes before topping with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
6. Enjoy warm straight from the mug.
Notes
Use a microwave-safe mug that holds at least 10–12 oz to prevent overflow.
For added texture, sprinkle a pinch of granola or crushed graham crackers on top before serving.
You can swap apples for pears or mix in a few chopped nuts for extra crunch.
