Description

This sweet Southern delight is a classic peach cobbler recipe with juicy peaches kissed with cinnamon and topped with a buttery, golden crust. Perfect for Sunday suppers, gatherings, or whenever you crave a nostalgic Southern dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit Base:

6 fresh peaches or 2 cans sliced peaches, drained

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tbsp lemon juice

Cobbler Batter:

1 cup self-rising flour

1 cup milk

1/2 cup butter, melted

1/2 cup brown sugar (optional, for topping)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Grease a cast iron skillet or baking dish.

3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together self-rising flour, milk, and melted butter until smooth.

4. Pour the batter into the greased skillet or baking dish.

5. In a separate bowl, combine sliced peaches, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir gently to coat.

6. Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir.

7. Sprinkle brown sugar over the top, if using.

8. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cobbler is bubbly.

9. Let cool slightly before serving.

10. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.

Notes

Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

You can substitute canned peaches for fresh peaches to save time.

Perfect for Sunday gatherings, potlucks, or anytime you crave a comforting Southern treat.
